    Dutch von Wiggles aka Bubba

    Name
    Bubba
    Sex
    Male
    Color
    White
    Age
    Puppy (<1 Year)
    Weight
    42lbs
This sweet 42lb guy has gone through so much! Bubba was abandoned in the streets and had a broken left rear leg that was left untreated for months. Funds were raised last year for his neuter and to insert a pin in his leg. The pin was adjusted as it was pressing against his sciatic nerve and eventually had to be prematurely removed due to his increasing pain. His leg has healed wonderfully but he's been chewing on his foot.

    His interim foster dad reports:
He is a very frisky guy who, through his personality, exemplifies the breed. He's a lot of fun; always looking for trouble, loves being with people and in a very puppy-like way, wiggles like a hyperactive worm. He has obviously in the past figured out how to wiggle out of collars/leashes and has a "patented move".

This smallish, white BT would be the perfect pet for a home with time to love him and understanding of what it takes to own a bull terrier. He is more than willing to try getting along with other dogs, but I feel he is so active that the best home would be one where he can spend a lot of "me time" with his person or people.
We're being careful with his next steps as he has been through so pain and surgery in his short life. We're hoping that once his foot completely heals, he'll no longer chew on it. If need be, he'll undergo exploratory surgery to determine if the chewing caused by nerve issues. Amputation would be the last resort, and funds are in escrow for that surgery.

I just wanted to pass some advice on to you about the chewing of Bubba's foot. I have a male Staffordshire bull terrier that did this same thing and after we found out from the vet it wasn't a medical issue we started putting booties on his feet to discourage his chewing and after about 3 months he left the boots and his feet alone. we left the boots on another month and then tried to have them off and he now leaves his feet alone besides the occasional cleaning. Sometimes on his favorite foot he will start to lick a little to much but, we just say his name and he leaves it alone. I am new to this forum and hope this unsolicited advice is acceptable and above all hope it helps. Oh, and I hope and pray it isn't a medical issue and that this beautiful dogie gets a great home. We foster as well and found it to be the most rewarding exp. Keep up the good work.

The bull terrier is my absolute favorite breed, even though I've never owned one. I wish I could take him in, but my pitty doesn't like other dogs
