It might help if you could actually take the, literally, 5 additional seconds it should have to form a complete thought. I'm guessing this thread isn't going to go particularly well, though, considering that you seem to be under the impression that it's perfectly normal to have "oops" litters and that "everyone" has done it.

I don't care who you are if you are a breeder or just a owner of dogs or any animal for that matter,when a female animal is in heat a male dog will do everything in his power to get to the female. Hell I've seen wild coyotes breed with dogs that were tied out. I've even had dogs breed through a chain link kennel. But you learn from the mistakes. That's what makes you better. Its really odd that you have something negative for every comment. I've got 18 years of breeding bulldogs and I have 100 years more to improve. So this nonsense about you being a know it all is shot down. Because with every dog and every year you gain more knowledge.

I think if one has a solid, reputable mentor before they get into breeding; that this chance is very less likely to happen than with a BYB. Typically a BYB has not really put the time an effort into their breeding program to research breeding before they begin.

If one has a good mentor, the mentor can tell them long before their bitch goes into heat, how to keep her contained, never to let/tie her out unsupervised, etc. This knowledge that is passed on helps reduce the chance of an oops pregnancy considerably.

A mentor (to me) is worth their weight in gold.

Well I will put my dogs up against your dog's. In fact I will let u pick the dog. We can hunt them show them or wut ever u want to do. I can personally guarantee you I will come out on top. And on the genetics thing. You don't know what you are talking about. And all dogs are mutts. It's more than one breed of dog to make a certain breed making them a mutt. Please do some research. I understand you have been around dogs for a long time, a lot longer than some like myself, but you have very little knowledge to show for it. With all due respect, you need to sit back and read for a long while before you continue to make a fool of yourself.

I just lost about 200 brain cells reading just your definition of dilution lol. So there are these things called genes that control traits right. And there is a gene that controls dilution. Correct me if I'm wrong my genetics savvy friends but in order for a dog to be dilute it had to be homozygous recessive. So if two dilute dogs, meaning both dd, are bred there is no possible way for them to produce a non-dilute dog unless there is some sort of mutation which happens very rarely. Obviously you've never taken any sort of genetics, repro or breeding class because that's literally the basics. Hell you learn that in high school biology for Christ's sake.

While adding water to clorox is in fact diluting it, that's an entirely different process. You don't get a dilute dog by breeding a black dog to a white dog and producing a gray dog. We're talking about genetics, not mixing paint.

People aren't dogs, or any other animal that has a dilution gene. The amount and type of melanin that a person has is the main factor in skin color.

If you're so adamant that all dogs are mutts then why don't you stop breeding your mutts and just adopt a bunch of other mutts from the shelter to catch your giant hogs? I mean since they're all mutts then it makes no difference right? The problem with your logic is that, like Sevinsins said, if all dogs are mutts because different breeds were used to crate them then how did the breeds they used to create these mutts come about?

I'm just a mutt owner with little to no interest in breeding or breed history and have never claimed knowledge of such. I could probably make up some nonsense for you if you'd like.
