I don't think it'd be weird either. Human compassion for someone who was the victim of a an irresponsible handler.I was thinking about texting one of the club members whose number I have and asking. Would that be weird of me? Like, hey I know we only met briefly and I never even met the person who was mauled but uh how's she doing? I dunno, sounds odd in my head.

I want to know if the dog is banned from events now. He really is an asshole for not putting that dog down.
Sorry I don't know the other stories about him. But my comment is based on the comments here.
Well, good news! The woman who was attacked is healing wonderfully and has full use of her hand.
Alright, I'm going to go ahead and update this thread because at this point, the "hearsay and speculation" about the other dog I had in mind (Osy) seems plausible enough to justify posting about it.
The two dogs that Clay was regularly traveling with were Osy and Boogieman. There was a very clear difference in the way that he handled these two dogs. For instance, Boogieman was often out of the crate, and Clay often used him as a demo dog. He would leave Boogieman in a down-stay ringside while he helped to move block for weightpull, or do paperwork, etc. There were many occasions where multiple hands were on Boogieman, and he wouldn't so much as flinch. In comparison, Osy usually spent the entire time he was at an event crated. Clay would pull him out of the crate and lead him to the weightpull track, or whatever else he was doing with him, and when he was done, Osy was immediately walked back to his crate. I do not personally know of a single instance where Osy ever had anyone handle him or put their hands on him outside of Clay's "circle." We've always speculated that there was something off about Osy's temperament that caused this dramatic difference in handling.
I received very credible information that at a Mondioring event held earlier this month, Osy was off-lead doing (I believe it was) a retrieve exercise. After he failed to complete the exercise correctly, and Clay attempted to discipline the dog, Osy got away from him and redirected on a young lady standing ringside, tearing off at least two of her fingers and part of her hand. Someone had to shove something down his throat to make him vomit those parts back up. This happened in front of hundreds of people, including a UKC judge. Clay made excuses for the dog's behavior and refuses to euthanize Osy.
So, there you have it.
Thanks for updating, I'm really happy to hear she's doing well! I hope she sues the shit out of that guy.Well, good news! The woman who was attacked is healing wonderfully and has full use of her hand.

Glad to hear she's doing well. Not glad to hear that the dog wasn't euthanized.
Not as far as I know. I'm kind of confused as to how the law works with incidents such as this. In Ft Worth where it happened I know the dog was seized and there should have been a hearing where the vdog was either deemed dangerous or not. If it is dangerous they can order euthanasia, guess they didn't in this case. If dangerous, there are all sorts of requirements to meet for the dog to be kept but since Clay isnt a resident here, I'm not sure that any of what went on in court has any effect on him in Houston...
Hey. Just contacting you because your partner has me blocked. Not sure what his beef with me has ever been. However, I have a couple of folks who I am in the process of suing for defamation of character at the moment. Let him know if he would like to discuss some of what he knows or thinks that he has heard, I'm fine with that. Otherwise, if the libel isn't removed, I'm suing him and will go after the pit bull chat board as well. Not a threat, a promise.

Clay sent a text to my co-breeder earlier:
Clay, I'd tell you to go fuck yourself, but I don't think you'd be able to reach with all of your...inadequacies. But feel free to try and sue me. What's your argument going to be? "Yes, Your Honor, my mastiff mutt mauled a woman and fuck-near took her hand off, but these people are being big mean poopieheads on the internet?"
Lmao! Wow, well, sorry to start a shitstorm for you!
Still, if you want to delete this thread, go ahead.
Wish there was a like button.I wouldn't support anything that guy does. In his personal life or otherwise.
